NEWSLETTER:

Saturday Nov. 5th, is the monthly Deacon’s Breakfast at 9:30 am. at CFBC.
Sunday, Nov. 6th, is the Church Council. It will be held after morning worship service in the Fellowship Hall. All committee heads please bring a report on their group’s activities for the last month.
The Lord‘s Supper will be observed on Sunday, Nov. 6th. This week we should all prepare ourselves to take this remembrance in a holy and worthy manner.
Monday, Nov. 7th, Women’s Day of Prayer at SABA from 9:30-11:30 with a sack lunch to follow. Becky Segovia will meet at our church about 8:00am to travel over with anyone who needs a ride.

Saturday November 19th is the next Samaritan Project event. Starting at 9:00 am, Nick Coalson will teach a CPR class. Another one may be taught in the afternoon as needed. Preregistration is on the bulletin board or the church office at 658-2891. We look farword to an informative time.
Sunday, Nov.20th, is the monthly business meeting after morning worship service. The meeting is to review on church business and to see a direction in our church ministries. Be prepared with any questions on the proposed 2011 Budget that you may have. This is the last meeting to discuss the proposed budget. Remember in Dec. Business Meeting, the Budget is just a “Yes or No” vote. We will have Evening Worship Services on the first and third Sundays.
The 24th is Thanksgiving Day, and there will be no meeting on Wednesday the 23rd, so everyone can prepare for the next day. Also the Office will be closed Nov 24th & 25th. We will open again on Mon. You can reach Bro Bill at his number or Tinna at 210-912-6865 if needed.
The Choir will start practicing on Wednesday nights at 8:00pm. They meet after Bible study to plan next Sunday’s worship music, and will start practicing on Christmas Music. We are thankful for all the members of our choir that help make our Worship experience so lovely and uplifting. If you wish to sing in the Christmas Choir now is the time to start practicing with them.
Kids In Action meet on Wednesday night from 7-8pm. Hey Kids! Mrs. Susan is planning some interesting and fun activities, so come and see what she has in store for you.
Put on the “Big Yellow Button” and you will open the door to a wider witness opportunity. The idea is to pray for people who ask for prayer or just who ask about the button. It starts conversations and provides openings to lead people to the Lord. Remember, if you have any questions ask Sam Brockman.
The “I Love My Church” offering each Sunday Morning is a successful step for the church. These funds are used to meet the needs of the church financially, of our mission needs, and of ongoing and future projects. God is Good.
Every Tuesdays @10:00am is bible study at GRASP and every Wednesday @6:30 pm is $1/1meal, prayer & bible study.

We are having several visitors lately so be sure to stop and great them on Sunday. Look on the bulletin board for names to call and follow up on our visitors. We have had several come because of the WEB site. If anyone wishes to help David, with ideas or time, on the site just call him at 912-9441.

Let us pray for our members that are sick, or traveling, and the pastor as he prepares for services. Please remember to pray for all of our brothers and sisters in Christ, our church, our community, Camargo orphanage, our men and women in armed services, yourself, and also the people who don’t know Christ as Savior. We hope to see you all Wednesday and Sunday. Remember to pray and seek God’s face daily. Let’s join Him where He is working. May God bless you and your families! Happy Thanksgiving.

NOTE FROM CAMARGO
Pastor Luna called Monday night & his niece Anna translated. According to Pastor Luna, “We have 27 kids at the orphanage now and crossing the border is safe.” We will go down on a week day in Dec. Let’s start collecting money now, for a Christmas @ Camargo–things are less expensive along the border, and in Mexico, than they are here. More later on this.
Bro. Bill

May 1st is the Church Council. It will be held after morning worship service
in the Fellowship Hall. All committee heads please bring a report on their
group’s activities for the last month.

Thursday, May 5th is the National Day of Prayer. Please take time to pray for this nation and its
leaders, at all levels, so we might start following God’s rules not “what seems
right in the eyes of man”.

Saturday May 7th, is the monthly Deacon’s Breakfast at 10: 00 am. Place is TBA.

Happy Mother’s Day to all our mothers. Sunday May 8th is Mother’s Day. Brittaney Alter will be
baptized that day, too.

WOM was meeting on the 10th at 6:30 pm, but due to illness on the leader’s parts it is rescheduled until
Tuesday, May the 24th at 6:30 pm. Anyone needing a ride please call Claudella or Beckie. This is the
quarterly meeting and all women are invited.

Sunday, May 15th, is the monthly business meeting after morning worship service.
Be prepared with any questions or suggestions that you may have. The meeting is to pass along information on
church business and to see direction in our church ministries.

Sunday, May 29th- will be our celebration for Memorial Day. We are having Jerry Lee Norton Bar-B-Q and
the church members are signing up for all the other foods to make a great Dinner & Fellowship after Morning Worship Service. Come join with us and
remember our fallen Service Members while having a great time with God’s Family.

Note from Pastor Bill: Well, all of you know what happened last Monday… we had a major
water leak, had to replace a water heater, file an insurance claim, and get some people in to
dry out the walls, floors and control the damage, before an insurance adjuster even got here. We still don’t know
the monetary damages, but know we will have to pay out at least our insurance deductible. We have to make sure the insurance
payment will cover the costs of repair, less that $1000. The Nursery was the most damaged. We will be, temporarily, juggling classes around the damage, and
later the repairs, for Sunday School. We will get over it. We will pray, adjust, work, give, be patient, and we will see the repairs done, the building
restored and our spirits lifted.

We are able to “do all things through Christ, who strengthens me<us>” We must rely on the Lord, hear His word,
and do His will. You and I can do that together, and we can lead others to do the same things, if we are faithful to proclaim the word and work of God
Himself. Isn’t that right?

Put on the “Big Yellow Button” and you will open the door to a wider witness opportunity. The idea is to pray for
people who ask for prayer or just who ask about the button. It starts conversations and provides openings to lead people to the Lord. We have 72 poker
chips to prove it. Remember, if you have any questions ask Sam Brockman.

Due to the Emergency financial measures we voted on in April, We will be having evening services on the 1st and 3rd Sundays and NO Services on the 2nd and 4th Sundays. This cuts down on the cost output for the church. We also are not taking a special Mission offering but are taking an “I Love My Church” offering each Sunday Morning instead. We will revisit these measures at
the August Business Meeting.

Every Tuesdays @10:00am is bible study at GRASP and every Wednesday @6:30 pm is $1/1meal.

Let us pray for our members that are sick or traveling, and the pastor as he prepares for services. Please

Saturday, June 18th, is a church wide workday. Come help do some of the work needed to keep the church looking beautiful and functioning as it should. The Space and Property Committee has projects for several people. If we all come and help, then these plans will be finished quickly and well. And we might even have fun doing them,

Happy Fathers Day to all our Fathers. Sunday June 19th is Father’s Day. There is NO pm service so we can all visit and spend time with our Fathers and family.
Sunday, June 19th, is the monthly business meeting after morning worship service. Be prepared with any questions or suggestions that you may have.
Tami will be at a workshop for a few days just before VBS and we hope she has a good time and learns a lot. The Choir is taking the first part of the month of June off to recharge their batteries after the Easter Season. They have a meeting June 15th after bible study to plan their next steps as a choir and where musically they plan to take the Church.

Vacation Bible School starts Sunday June 26th and ends June 30th. It runs from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm each night. The theme this year is “Treasure Quest”. We hope to have fun seeking the Lord’s Treasures. Directors are Susan Brockman and Kristi Lindsey.

Due to the Emergency financial measures we voted on in April, We will be having evening services on the 1st and 3rd Sundays and, unless they are holidays, NO Services on the 2nd and 4th Sundays,. This cuts down on the cost output for the church. We also are not taking a special Mission offering, but are taking an “I Love My Church” offering each Sunday Morning instead. This offering’s funds are used to meet the needs of the church financially, of our mission needs, and of ongoing and future projects. It has been a very beneficial change. We will revisit these measures at the August Business Meeting.

NEWSLETTER:

Last Day of school is June 4th. We hope our children have a fun summer. Remember Sunday school is still in session. We still look forward to seeing all their shining faces each Sunday. Oh by the way, Summer officially begins Monday, June 21st.

On the 6th is the Church Council Meeting in the fellowship hall. There will also be a Baby Dedication Ceremony during the morning service. Pray for this family and the commitment they are making for their child before God.

Sunday, June 13th is the monthly business meeting, after morning worship service. Be prepared with any questions or suggestions that you may have. The meeting is to pass along information on church business and to see direction in our church ministries.

Also on the 13th, at 2:00 pm, is the Gospel Singing Convention. This is a good time to join with other churches in our area to praise the Lord in song. Converse FBC is the host this time, so come join in the singing.

Sunday, June 20th is Father’s Day. There will be no evening service so our members can spend time with their fathers and families.

On Tuesday, June 22nd, the “Busy Fingers” sewing group from WOM will meet from 10:00am until 2:00pm. There is a WOM meeting at 2pm after the sewing time. The ladies have been working hard on collecting quilting scraps to make throws. If you have any quilting scraps, please donate them in the blue box in the foyer. If you are interested in helping, come to the church on the 25th, or see Beckie or Alice. We invite all ladies to be a part of WOM meeting and to be a part of making throws.

The Summer Lunch Outreach starts 11:00 am-1:00 pm, Tuesday, June 22. We will serve every Tue., Wed., & Thu. thru August 19th. This is the program that helps children ages 1-18 receive a meal during the day. For many of these children, this will be the only meal they receive in a day. Volunteers are needed to help with basics like distributing food, setting up and cleaning up a site—they also plan and do educational or recreational activities with the children. Shirley Shepard is the coordinator for our church, so contact her to volunteer.

On June 25th Tami Sanders graduates from Wayland Baptist University with her Master’s Degree. Congratulations Tami.

Let’s invite friends and neighbors to come and eat supper with us on Wednesday nights and we will buy their first meal with us. Please remember to pray for all of our brothers and sisters in Christ, our church, our community, Camargo orphanage, our men and women in arm services, and also the lost souls that we may or may not know. We hope to see you all Sunday morning. May God bless you and your families!
